Jennifer O'Mara OWNER / TEACHER OF TEACHERS / CERTIFIED PILATES INSTRUCTOR
Jennifer has owned & operated The Pilates Loft since 2003. A graduate from the University of Florida, Jennifer’s background is firmly placed in Exercise Physiology with an emphasis in Physical Therapy. She studied Pilates under and was certified by Romana Kyrzanowska, Joseph Pilates’ protégé, in 2000. With a specialization in spine care, Jennifer found an easy transition from helping people find relief in the physical therapy arena to using Pilates to strengthen and eliminate most pain associated with the back and neck.

With a physical background beginning in gymnastics as a youth, power lifting through college and marathon training currently, Jennifer uses Pilates as a form of cross training to improve flexibility and core strength.

In 2009, The Pilates Loft was named a certification center for the NY Pilates Studio Teacher Certification Program through the United States Pilates Association (U.S.P.A.) and Jennifer was invited to be a Teacher of Teachers. Since that time, she has continued her education with Brett Howard, the Director of Education for the program, and continues to pass that knowledge on to her instructors and apprentices.

Mark Griffith CERTIFIED PILATES INSTRUCTOR

Mark was introduced to Pilates in the year 2000 at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado. At the time, Mark was competing in trampoline for the United States National Team on the World Cup Circuit. Physical Therapists for the United States Olympic Committee used Pilates as a way to combat Mark’s chronic back pain caused by instability of the joints in his back and pelvis. After a few sessions Mark’s pain disappeared and he was hooked! He continued training at the International Elite level and earned 19 National Titles and a World Championship Title in the sports of tumbling and trampoline.

Mark received his Pilates Instructor certification in 2005 from Power Pilates based in New York City and has been teaching at The Pilates Loft since then. In addition to teaching Pilates, Mark is a performing acrobat in Cirque du Soleil's resident production of 'La Nouba'. He is personally committed to the Pilates Method of Body Conditioning to help him not only prevent injuries but to maintain a demanding fitness level. Mark also enjoys weightlifting, volleyball, tennis, and scuba diving. Most recently in 2009, Mark was inducted into The USA Gymnastics Hall of Fame.

Meghan Juras CERTIFIED PILATES INSTRUCTOR
Meghan grew up a dedicated student of ballet and modern dance. After graduating from Boston University in 2002 and beginning her career in advertising, she was eager to find a new exercising passion that could offer the same benefits she experienced from dancing- long, lean muscle and core strength. Meghan began training extensively at The Pilates Loft in 2007 doing a combination of 3 private sessions a week along with group classes. She was amazed at how much strength and flexibility she quickly regained with a dedicated, consistent training schedule and decided she wanted to teach the Authentic Method herself.

Meghan's Apprenticeship included over 700 hours of intensive training with Jennifer O'Mara, owner of The Pilates Loft and Teacher of Teachers for the United States Pilates Association (U.S.P.A.); Brett Howard, owner of The Pilates Haus, Senior Teacher of Teachers and Director of Education for the U.S.P.A.; and David Freeman, Director of the U.S.P.A. and owner of The Pilates Institute of Fort Lauderdale. Chelsea Redick CERTIFIED PILATES INSTRUCTOR

Shortly after completing graduate school in the fall of 2009, Chelsea discovered Pilates and saw immediate results in her flexibility, core strength, and overall body physique. Encouraged by her own success, she decided to become an instructor in hopes of helping other people achieve similar results. She loves working with people and making a difference in others’ lives. With her background in therapy and teaching, becoming an instructor was a natural fit.

Chelsea grew up in Palm City, Fl and played volleyball and softball through the duration of high school. While attending the University of Central Florida, Chelsea’s primary focus was on her academic success but she still had a passion for fitness, particularly yoga. She graduated from UCF with a Bachelor’s degree in communicative disorders and then earned her Master’s degree in Speech Therapy (focusing on traumatic brain injuries and stroke rehabilitation). Chelsea discovered a love of running and completed her first half-marathon in October of 2011.

As an apprentice, Chelsea received over 700 hours of intensive training and practice with Jennifer O'Mara, owner of The Pilates Loft and Teacher of Teachers for the United States Pilates Association (U.S.P.A.); Brett Howard, owner of The Pilates Haus in New Jersey, Senior Teacher of Teachers and Director of Education for the U.S.P.A.; and Meghan Juras, Authentic Instructor at The Pilates Loft. Alia Staples CERTIFIED PILATES INSTRUCTOR
As early as she can remember, Alia has had a passion for fitness. One of her earliest memories is doing home exercise videos with her mom as a toddler. At fifteen, Alia underwent a major spinal fusion surgery to correct severe scoliosis. While the procedure successfully treated her scoliosis, it significantly reduced flexibility in her spine. Since the procedure, she has been determined to continue her active lifestyle and seek out new ways to stay fit, while increasing range of motion in her back.

She began training at The Pilates Loft in early 2010 to introduce a new form of exercise into her fitness routine and was quickly impressed by the results. She noticed increased flexibility in her tight back and a substantial improvement in the strength of her core. As an avid runner who enjoys competing in half marathons, Alia firmly believes in practicing Pilates as a form of cross training. Her experience with the Authentic Pilates Method prompted her to enter the NY Pilates Studio Teacher Certification Program through the United States Pilates Association (U.S.P.A.) in January of 2011 so she could teach the Authentic Method to others.

Alia earned Bachelor of Arts degrees in Communication and English from Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, VA and worked in the public relations field for three years. She is currently pursuing her MBA at the University of Central Florida. Alia received over 700 hours of intensive training at The Pilates Loft, where she trained extensively with studio owner and U.S.P.A. Teacher of Teachers Jennifer O'Mara, and at The Pilates Haus in New Jersey with Brett Howard, Senior Teacher of Teachers and Director of Education for the U.S.P.A.. She strives to educate herself completely in the principles of Authentic Pilates and share her passion for Pilates with her clients.
